About the Author Chaya Rosen, a daughter of Holocaust survivors, explores what she sees as the "silent sounds and shadows"--a legacy inherited by children of the post Holocaust era. Her life-long interest in the Holocaust has included teaching, participation in projects to interview survivors, and most recently, the founding of a forum for Second Generation artists: Art and Writings of Destruction and Repair. Chaya Rosen was born in Poland, before moving to Israel and later to the United States. In her efforts to retrace her family's roots, she managed to locate her parents' former homes, the ghetto from where they escaped several liquidation roundups, and the bunkers in the forest where they hid for two years. In the Shadow of God, her third poetry book is a thoughtful and self-reflective journey. The book continues the journey begun in Streaming Light and Scattered Stones, and captures the traumatic impact of loss and memory as it affects children of survivors. An expert in Knowledge Management, Chaya Rosen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Master of Science in Organizational Management.

Hughes Chaya reaches from the wellspring of her soul to share a collection of short poems woven with tears, laughter and bitter smiles. From death camps and Jewish lives , she gathers the silent echoing memories weaving these together with passionate composition in verse. These collections of poems are dramatic and epic tales . This book is a short but powerful read, like a quick mourning passing storm of shadows of loss the struggle to heal, which encumber within the lives of children of Holocaust survivors. “ don’t forsake me , don’t leave me yet, my strength still remembers you in Jerusalem “

Poetry of Loss By Sari Friedman Chaya Rosen writes of concentration camp survivors she knows and loves, delineating her anguish, showing her raw and unself-conscious ache. My favorite poem was "My Mother." I also felt the bitterness of "A Plan" and the inchoate grief of "Never Think About Her." A rough, loud cry of pain.

Memory and Healing By John Guzlowski Moving and intense, this meditation on the Holocaust welcomes the reader into a world of remembrance and grief, sorrow and healing, as Chaya Rosen introduces us to her parents, their experiences in the war, and the effect it has had upon her. Using the language and art of poetry, Ms. Rosen embraces their memory and discovers a path to what was and what still can be.
