By Sheila P.Wilson not only is this excellent book a great help for the special needs community I found it very helpful having suffered recently from a stroke and having to deal with therapy,, mobility and living adjustments. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Truly an apt title By Rhonda S. Guenther I am very interested in reading pediatric medical biographies. This one was excellent since it was about four different children with four different anomalies. I enjoyed this book immensely. It was an easy read. I especially enjoyed the last two stories about schizencephaly and SMA since there really isn't as much info on either disorder as there are on others. I think one overriding theme that we should all take with a grain of salt is doctors' predictions for children with chronic and/or terminal diseases. When they say that a particular child won't ever amount to anything or will only live a short time, that is bogus. No one, not even doctors with their years of education, can predict what the human spirit is capable of. I think God determines when it's time to die if we allow him to. These were very inspiring stories. You can have a very happy full and productive life with a disability or terminal disease. In the end, it all boils down to quality or quantity. I'll take quality any day.
