Taylor and Vargo's Learning Chef is the only one that explained things in a way that made any sense. The others jumped right into topics without building up to it. Not only that, but it has been the only one that's up to date with the latest changes to Chef. For example, it explains Chef Development Kit. I had struggled for a couple of weeks just figuring out what to install before getting this book.

I found Chef is a very useful tool to achieve this perfectly. Being new to Chef, I found this book very helpful to understand Chef clearly. Crisp and clear step by step information helped me to understand the things clearly. Now I am familiar with Chef and implementing this tool for my servers.

Easy to read and follow, and for a first-timer with Chef , I found it quite useful for helping me get my head around the topic and to follow the examples. Its the third I tried to learning Chef software. I am familiar with Chef and implementing this tool for my servers.
