The book doesn't go into great depth, but it touches on all the important parts of the framework.I've found it hard to learn Ember.js, because the framework has been in flux and much of the online documentation is out of date. For example, Ember's controllers are scheduled to be deprecated, but a lot of the Ember tutorials were written when controllers were an important part of an Ember application. In this book, the author says: "The Ember team plans to deprecate controllers early in the 2.x release cycle, in favor of performing similar work in the route or in components. Future versions of this book will follow suit, and for now, we’re avoiding using controllers as much as possible." At the time of writing this review, there's not a lot of good advice available online on how to avoid using controllers, which makes the examples in this book all the more valuable.I also appreciate the way that this book doesn't get distracted by introducing addons for this, that, and the next thing. Each chapter contains a sidebar that points you in the direction of an addon that you might find useful, and those suggestions give you plenty more to read up on if you want.I've been using Ember.js for about a year now and I wish that I had read this book sooner.

I bought the electronic version and liked the way content is presented By Emir Ustamujic I bought the electronic version and liked the way content is presented. As a new learner of Ember I found this book a great introduction how to work with Ember, with very clear and up to date explanations. It contains tips on useful addons from the Ember addons ecosystem as well as developing and publishing your own addon. It is not a long book so the reader can quickly get started working on apps but perhaps an additional more in depth chapter on how the Ember framework functions behind the scenes would be useful for better understanding.
