The Seven Generations Story: Make It Yours By Louise Lovdahl In this book, Rick, a masterful and full-hearted storyteller, lovingly shares several pieces of his own emotional "work" and explains the powerful benefits this process has on both previous and future generations in his family and community. Provided at the end of each chapter are several thought provoking exercises that will stimulate the reader to look deeply into their own lives.Rick is a man who is continually doing his own "work", always seeking awareness around the impact of his own words and actions. He is not a typical motivational speaker who travels a circuit, giving the same motivational speech over and over. Instead he in an active healer who provides a safe place for both men and women to transform their past wounds into acceptance and joy.I gained many insights into my own life through the "Seven Generations Story" and plan to journal around some of the questions Rick has provided with this book. I encourage you to do the same.

Kiel The joy of reading Rick's books emanates from his honest reflections on his own life as examples to elicit an understanding of what triggers transformation. His candor invites me closer to the core of what he shares. Having attended trainings led by Rick and read his first book, I am totally enrolled in his authenticity and insight to the human condition. In The Seven Generations Story, he follows a very clear, non-jargon, and personal experience based understanding how to heal the shadows impacting families for generations. Just the thought of having that kind of power gives me hope.

Laughton I've known for awhile that all of us (and our emotional patterns) are heavily influenced by our lineage. It's been eye-opening to learn about some of my ancestors that I obviously never met and realizing that there are qualities about me that were also there with men in my maternal line going back centuries, actually. It's also been humbling to watch some of those lineage characteristics playing out in my own children. What I didn't have was a way to actually take that knowing and translate it into something actionable & transformative...and, specifically written from the perspective of not just an academic or professional, but from a Father's viewpoint and experience. Rick has done a masterful job of giving me what I've wanted for years, and he's written it in a way that helped me get his heart right out of the gate, along with his passion for wanting his and all our descendants to be able to keep progressing and evolving. The book moved me deeply, along with inspiring a great deal of compassion towards myself, my parents, and my two grown sons. This book needs to be read by everyone, as far as I'm concerned. It will open your eyes and heart in a way that will likely surprise and stir you, as it did me.
