Gaining more knowledge on Linux By Michael Sims If you’re someone interested in downloading Linux, you’re probably a programmer or some tech enthusiast. I fall in the tech enthusiast category and am primarily interested in the OS because I’m kind of done with Windows and I like how Linux can run on older hardware without crashes. What you get from this book is a reference guide, more than something you’ll read before you get Linux. If you are reading this book just because, you’ll probably get bored because frankly, it’s not that interesting unless you’re following and experimenting with Linux yourself as you’re reading this book. It talks about components of the OS, the type of file systems, a bunch of commands, etc. I mean if you just want to download this book to learn more about the OS to know what you’re getting into, that’s fine but I kind of thought of it as a user manual and a great one at that. And I think a beginner who’s experimenting with Linux is who this book is targeting anyway. In all, the book is great at explaining a lot about the operating system and will help you master it.

By Dan Glover If you are thinking of upgrading your operating system to Linux - and yes, Linux is a definite upgrade over Microsoft - then this book is the place to start. It explains everything about the Linux operating system in an easy to follow and understandable language that makes it simple to download, install, and run your new operating system. Keep this manual by your side as you grow into Linux and learn all the advantages of a free and open source operating system. Say goodbye to buying expensive Windows upgrades every few years and hello to Linux!

By Mr Green I have actually heard of the LINUX operating system and I have also heard from some of my friends of how it is way better than Microsoft, so I decided to give it a try, at first, it looked a little weird since I was used to Microsoft all my life and I was having difficulty operating it, that was until I bought this book, which has indeed been very helpful and informative, this book has given a detailed explanation of what the LINUX operating system is all about, it has given some incredible advantages of LINUX some of which are security, compatibility and flexibility, but the most important advantage I found very unique was the fact it is crash free. This book has also shown me a lot of stuff about the LINUX operating system like how to write a shell script and how to execute a command which I found very helpful. This has indeed been an awesome guide in learning what the LINUX operating system is all about and how to operate it.
