About the Author Bruce Lack served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 2003–2007, spending twenty-one months in Fallujah, Iraq. He is a recent graduate of the Helen Zell Writer’s Program at the University of Michigan. He lives in Portage, Michigan, with his wife and son.

You can't help but develop a deeper appreciation for what all the men and women in the war did for our country after reading these poems. Most of us only know what the media or movies want us to think war is but Bruce paints such a vivid picture you get a glimpse into the harsh reality of what is truly experienced overseas. As you read these poems, you will go on an emotional roller coaster, but in the most amazing way.

It shoots straight from the hip and is mesmerizing from start to finish. It will make you go back a few pages, several times, then read it again. After a few quatrains you will feel like you are there, living it with them. HIGHLY recommend it.
