This is a must read for any couple struggling with their marriage By Gina Burgess This is an amazing journey to redemption of not only two souls, but redemption of a marriage.I was delighted to read how one woman determined to restore her marriage following God's plan, and not her own. She did not give up even when it seemed the best thing to do. Amazing.There were quite a number of typos, though. And it is completely narrative without dialogue. Since the book is full of conversation, the narrative gets a bit tedious at times. It would be much better to break the paragraphs up with dialogue.The story is very well organized, and the fact that it is true gives it a wonderful testimony feel to it. The restoration story is powerful, uplifting, and filled with hope. I know that God allowed Erica to walk into that valley so that she could testify to how glorious He is toward His children.If you are not an editor or an English teacher, you probably won't notice many typos. Day by day, the Lord teaches her to learn to love, but at the same time God begins to change her husband as well...This story is a story of hope overcoming all hopelessness, and a powerful reminder of how God comes to us in the storms of life and assures us that there is no power, no storm, no wind, no force in the world that God cannot conquer.Strongly recommended to all couples pondering separation and/or divorce.

Not only are these poems exquisitely crafted and lyrical, but they are poignant and wise. At times I felt myself near tears. But this is no sentimental book--it's a brave, intelligent one, confronting the hardest subjects in life with a discerning and loving eye and ear. Feldman's book is a brilliant collection, one that reminds us that poetry continues to be a most necessary art.

By The Humble Hustler This book explores how simple choices are our lives--how we need to move, take responsibility for them, and live the lives we were meant to have. I really enjoyed the different point of view Hyde clearly portrays with stories that made me cry, laugh, pause, and even get angry. It's more than a self-help book, more like a life-philosophy that can have great impact and positive change. Instead of letting others direct our lives for us, we can see life as a series of choices. I attended Sheffield High School and later graduated from Central High School online. I attended several different beauty colleges Pro Way Hair School, New Wave Hair Academy being two of them. I write music, I sing, I rap, and I'm also an inspiring Author. I am a proud mother of four. Although my journey was not easy I made the best of it. I did not complain I just did what I had to do by any means. Through all of my everyday trials, I learned to never give up. I found comfort in writing that's how I expressed my feelings but ultimately, I learned to only depend on myself. I was self motivated. I didn't have to work hard cause I was self driven. I knew whatever I wanted I had to get out there and get it and make it happen on my own. I got my hands dirty every now and then. My mom was always there when I needed her However, I knew that she had problems of her own but I did not let that stop me. I loved her unconditionally despite the mistakes that she made, we all make them. I can truly say that my circumstances, as a child has molded me into the strong and gifted woman that I am today, and because of God's Grace I'm able to share, and tell my story. Everyday I live to learn something new. I may not have everything I want , but I Thank God for Everything, that I have. Stay Tuned there will be a part two of this Book.

0 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Unsupported Claims By Carkkk niyrf This book depicts the result of drugs, dysfunctional families, and the impact they have on our youth. Additionally, it also depicts the result of poor choices by our youth, lack of accountability, and lack of consequences for their action. I did not find that based on her experiences there are any indications that she ever learned from her struggles, nor did she state that as a result of those struggles she taught her children any life values. She was asked to live with her aunt but "couldn't hang." because she could not go and come as she please. I feel that she was a defiant teen who later got pregnant and rather than get a job to support her family, she chose to strip, quit her jobs to live with anyone who would take her and her child in, and chase jail birds. It seems that she never wanted to apply herself and chose and/or choosing quick/fast money. This choice never works, ask those incarcerated for trying this scheme. Trina get a real job!!!

From avoiding alcohol and drug use to sexual relations,  no subject was left unturned.  Words cannot express the elation of reading a book intended to uplift the young African American male. I consider this to be a "must read" for teen boys.

Petrarch’s Canzoniere is an innovative collection of poems predominantly celebrating his idealised love for Laura, perhaps a literary invention rather than a real person, whom Petrarch allegedly first saw, in 1327, in the Church of Sainte Claire in Avignon. Mostly using the sonnet form the poems were written in the Italian vernacular rather than Latin, and Petrarch, like Dante, exploited and extended the language to convey a wider range of feeling and expression.

As well as his love for Laura, Petrarch communicates not only his own personality but also his humanist, secular and religious values, providing, like Dante, a body of work focussed, in a major way, for the first time in later European literature, on the poet himself, his individuality, and his spiritual journey, although he also looks back to the Roman achievements of Ovid, Horace, and Propertius.

The poems were written over a forty year period, the earliest dating from shortly after 1327, and the latest from around 1368, and were a major influence on the poetry of the European Renaissance, especially in France, Spain, and England, where sonnet sequences were written until well into the seventeenth century, the form being revived and extended later by the English 19th century poets.

About the Author

Francesco Petrarca, or Petrarch, was born in Arezzo, Italy in 1304. A scholar, poet, diplomat, and early humanist, his rediscovery of the ancient Roman writers did much to fuel the 14th century Renaissance. His use of the sonnet form, particularly in the lyrics dedicated to his ideal love, Laura, was imitated throughout Europe, and became a mark of the civilised literary culture of his own and later periods. Initially trained as a lawyer in the universities of Montpellier and Bologna, his first extensive literary work, an epic in Latin, celebrated the Roman general Scipio Africanus. It was well received and in 1341 he was crowned in Rome as the first poet laureate since antiquity. He is particularly associated with Avignon, where he lived for many years, later travelling widely in Northern Italy, and living for a time in Venice. A friend of Boccaccio, Petrarch died at his home in Arqua, among the Eugenean hills near Padua, in 1374

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Highly Readable By Jack Alan Robbins This is a very good and highly readable translation of Petrarch. And worth reading. My favorite translation of Petrarch remain the Mark Musa translation which is great literature. It is my humble view that since I don't read Petrarch in his original language, it is worthwhile reading several translations to be assured of getting the most out of that and then deciding which translation works best for you. I do that with Homer, Virgil, Dante, and Rilke, Neruda and others.
