About the Author V.E. Avance grew up in Central California. She is a survivor of both child abuse and domestic violence. Instead of allowing her circumstances to define her, she has risen above and beyond. Though it hasn't always been an easy road, she chose to fight and struggle to pull herself from the depths of depression and anxiety. Though she cannot change the past, she is solely in charge of her future and refused to continue down the path of self-destruction that her abusers instilled in her. On the Edge series was developed out of her strong will and determination. At the time the books were written, past events were haunting her every thought. She, like her main character, was falling down a rabbit hole. With every word she wrote, she was able to pull herself out of that hole. Now that Abby's story is done, V.E. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Forgiveness Yes or No ? By Sassy Tommy's story had to be a very hard story for this author to write! It deals of the story of his life from birth. His early life was full of abuse, and he used drugs as a way to cope with everything. Tommy had choices he could of made that would have been better than the ones he made, and he paid for that with 20 years of his life. He did use that 20 years wisely while he was behind bars for the acts he committed. He finished his education, and had therapy so he could deal with his childhood and what he'd done, he became a model prisoner. The parole hearing scene was full of tears for me. I urge you to read this series of books: On the Edge, On Solid Ground, and Road to Nowhere. It was at times filled with sadness and tears, because of what the characters when through. Tommy was a true product of his upbringing and served his time. I wonder what the rest of us would have done in Abigail and Addison's place at the parole hearing? This story reminds us that true healing cannot take place without forgiveness. I wish the author peace and forgiveness, and I would like to thank her for writing these books! By melissa aguirre I was given this arc in exchange for a honest review.V.E AVANCE Is a awesome writer I have just recently started reading her work and I love it.Her books make you feel like you are the person you are feeling the emotions like you are on a roller coaster ride.This is the third book the first two are talking how it started and what happened to get Tommy where he is at in the third book Road to Nowhere Tommy's Story V.E AVANCE did a great job .Tommy wakes up and is not sure where is is at or even why he is there.He finally realizes he is behind bars but why is he here not sure what he did he starts remembering watching Abigail and her current boyfriend knowing he left her alone he remembers busting the door in and grabbing her by her ponytail and hitting her but doesn't think he should be behind bars for that and decides this is all her fault.He will walk you through what happens from the time he was born and how he ended up in foster care.Now while you don't think you could every feel sorry for someone that abuses women you will walk through his entire life from the day he was born you will be surprised how emotional you really get reading his side of the story.Once it releases on amazon you will want to one click Road to nowhere.This book releases in 2015 make sure you put on your TBR.Reviewed by Melissa for MNP
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Road to Nowhere By Lynn Smith I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.Tommy came into the world unwanted by his mother. His fist five years was filled with abuse both physically and mentally. After being put in foster care his life got better for awhile and went downhill from there. Turing to drugs he commits an unspeakable crime and now must pay the price. This book is mostly a story about learning forgiveness both to yourself and others. You cannot change your past you can only learn from it and make the choice to change your future. It was a wonderful read. Seeing the other side. Normally you only hear about the abused, but with Tommy's Story you get the story of the abuser.
