About the Author M. C. Griar was just an average mother raising her daughters while working as a Contract Administrator when academic challenges faced by one of her daughters set her on a path towards education. She went on to spend 20+ years as Director/Owner of a Learning Center, GED Instructor (for Juveniles, Prison Reentry and adult students), Substitute Math teacher and Academic Coach. She has been a part of all aspects of education from elementary school through college preparation. She has developed academic modules and created programs (“The Road to College begins in Preschool” , “Enriching the Edusphere®”). Now she is sharing her practices with others. She says, “It is necessary life work that I truly love”. She conducts seminars and workshops for students, parents and teachers upon request.

Griar’s book, The World is a classroom: We are all Teachers, is a reminder to all of us – parents, educators, mentors, friends, and strangers, that we all make an impact on the education of children. The “classroom” is not just inside the school building, and the teacher is not the only one responsible for educating the child – valuable learning experiences can take place everywhere, and it still takes a village to raise a child. The role of the parent cannot be emphasized enough…as stated by Griar, “the key to your child’s education lies with YOU!” I enjoyed the important message of this book.
