About the Author Michael Barry Judkins was born in the Bronx, New York, along with his four brothers and sisters. Michael’s childhood memories, although bittersweet, provided a rich foundation for him to draw upon later in life as an accomplished author. Great summary and the importance of understanding DSLR vs a dedicated light meter By Neil legge Good summary of how light meters work, especially 'in-camera' vs Hand-Held light meters. Clear and concise descriptions of why exposure should not be just 'in the ballpark' but a precise evaluation of the subject scene to ensure your lights and darks should not be clipped and are within the dynamic range of your camera sensor. This book finally solidified my decision to purchase the Sekonic 758DR to take my photography to the next level and to ensure consistent and correct exposure (while keeping in mind that any deviations therefrom are my particular interpretation of the scene). Highly recommended for those who want to take their photography to the next level and are considering an external light meter.

The unbelievable somehow became believable. I was hooked from the first page. Never put it down. Really, really, really great book. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great read!

In the series of novels by author Griffel, David often seems like a minor character in his own stories – but when I finish each book, he is the only one I am thinking about. I ask myself "Why did you say that stupid thing? For once, act like a mensch! These are your friends? I would hate to see your enemies!" It turns out that David is my mirror. He acts and reacts like my reflection – and I am constantly berating him, only to find that I am yelling at myself.That is the author’s genius: to take this character, throw him into a setting that is part dream, part nightmare, wind him up, and watch him try to cross the pages without too many trips, gaffes, and annoying puns – only to realize that I am like David, each of us anti-heroes in our own messy lives.David is back this time in a castle in modern-day Germany – you are going to have to find out yourself how this Bronx boy with his heart in the Jewish Catskills ends up in this unlikely setting. But suffice it to say, its not quite the “love story” that is promised in the novel’s first few pages. Unless you begin to understand that David’s first love is none other than…he, himself.In this novel, much is heard about monarchical life, with so much royal advice that I was reminded of that old fool Polonius, who told his son “to thine own self be true” while meaning “watch your back”, something David never quite seems to learn. Also, I half-expected to bump into Lou Costello, running through the dark corridors and stairwells of the castle yelling “ABBOTT!” I think David would have liked that too.Another author (Doctorow) once wrote that “writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia”. Reading about David Grossman in this quartet of novels is indeed that disruption of reality and fantasy. Most of the time we keep ourselves in check, but David is our release valve. Like I said, its good to have him around.

Classic Jewish gothic tale By Erica Miles, author of Dazzled by Darkness A humorous and fast-moving, action-packed, fantastic adventure story, starring David Grossman, an improbable Jewish hero, who rises to yet more surprising, politically and culturally questionable, ancestral ascendance. A truly contemporary novel, yet one full of charming, visual and textural historical detail, delicately woven throughout the novel--from the grounds of the castle, to the basement, to the confusing doors of the uppermost story; from the bedroom with the Italian Renaissance décor to the one with the French, Louis XV bed. Mr. Griffel is a true master of suspense in the best sense of the word, offering complex and compelling love rectangles and ghoulish hints of what lies ahead for the reader, as he or she chuckles or cracks his/her knuckles in avid anticipation of some grossly unimaginable solution to the mystery of Grossman's Castle. An exceptional work of artistry and wild inspiration--not to mention entertaining dialogue, sex, and unabashed chutzpah! In short, this was a wonderful book. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. ... older sons however I did not find this book useful at all By MommyNblueland I have read other books about ADHD having three children with ADHD and this book I purchased two kind of just refresh myself a little on some concepts as my newly diagnosed daughter has a bit of a different type of ADHD than my two older sons however I did not find this book useful at all. It just gives you basic information which you could find googling and its about 40 pages long which is not great I really don't recommend this book I've seen it highly rated and that was the reason that I purchased it unless you absolutely have no experience with ADHD and you're just getting started then this may be a good book for somebody like that however for me that I am familiar as to the different types of ADHD and so on this was just not something that I would have bought had I known I probably should have gotten the free preview before I committed to buy which is obviously an awesome thing that Amazon offers. There is another book by dr. Herman and it's called the seven types of ADHD I believe and that one is really great if you are just receiving an ADHD diagnosis for a child or yourself.
