A simple four-step workbook approach to envisioning how you want your family relationships to be, and making it happen.Full of examples from real clients, as well as her own family, Alice clearly brings a lifetime of experience and thought to help parents approach and evolve relationships with their children.And, not only are these good ideas for parenting, but for any relationship or frustration in one's life. Whether it is using the simple idea of a "pause" to defuse frustration or anger, or the four-steps approach to envisioning and achieving a goal, Alice's book provides simple and powerful tools to help.

Some might even call my experience an “inspired parenting journey”. Little did I know there was a step-by-step guide that has helped many people create the lasting change I’ve experienced on my journey until I read Parenting Inspired: Finding Grace in the Chaos, Confidence in yourself, & Gentle Joy Along the Way. As I read the pages of Alice Hanscam’s enlightening book, I felt like I was reading the perfect companion guide to my life's transformation. Many of the concepts that Alice illustrates in the book (like focusing on the positive, the power of the pause, and the importance of self care) have been critical to the success of my journey. Alice goes a step further by providing highly relatable examples, sample dialogues, and practical exercises based on her experience as a PCI Parenting Coach. Her in-depth instruction allows readers to implement loving practices into everyday life and reflect on the positive changes that are occurring. After working through this excellent resource, anyone can come away feeling less alone and more hopeful for the calm, connection, and confidence we all yearn for in life.

It is great to have a book that puts down in a clear manner some tools that can bring greater joy and confidence to that task as well as support the best for our children. This book gives a nice frame-work to help foster reflection and gain insight into how our own attitudes and expectations affect our experience in parenting relationships day-to-day and in the long-term. I found the examples of parents who have put the steps in this book to use very helpful and interesting. I appreciated that it was easy to pick up, read a bit then take time to reflect. It would have loved to have this book 15 years ago when my children were younger but I find the information is relevant and helpful now even though my children are adults. The principles presented for the parent-child relationship can be helpful for other relationships as well. I would recommend this book for parents and grandparents and anyone who wishes to experience greater joy and confidence in their relationships.
