This isn't a light story, but one that offers sensitivity, understanding, encouragement, and ultimately the hope of leaving emotional pain of abuse behind. The illustrations are beautifully done and particularly striking given the subject matter. I ordered the kindle version here, but have had the opportunity to read through the hardback book . I believe counselors who work with children would benefit from adding this book to their working library. The book is totally bilingual (English/Spanish), adding to its versatility and global usefulness.
