2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Can't take it seriously. By Amanda Forbes Did no one else notice the spelling, punctuation and all-around writing mistakes in this "book"? It was terrible. Not to mention, no original writing here. This information is already on many blogs on the Internet, parenting periodicals and such. Sadly, extremely disappointed with this collection of words in paragraph form they refer to as a book. Hate being so critical, but next time send it through a real editor if you want to be taken seriously. But nice try.

More Than a Memoir By BrendaS While editing manuscripts, my focus is on the "stuff" that makes the words flow undistracted: punctuation, grammar, spelling, etc. But as I was fulfilling my privilege of performing a comprehensive line edit of Hope's Prayers, I found myself focused on the story, on the purpose, and on the changes it was creating in my heart. This is not just some "sweet little memoir" for the Pfeiffer children (though it will undoubtedly serve that purpose beautifully); it is a story of faith that intertwines the life of Hope Pfeiffer, the words, stories, and memories of her husband (and the author), Rob, and the amazing hope that we can all find as we walk through everyday trials and hardships.I have no financial stake in the book or as a result of this review, so you can be assured that my recommendation is sincere. This is worth every penny and is a book that you will read over and over again; I'm all but certain that you'll see and learn something new each time. Thank you, Rob Pfeiffer, for sharing your story with all of us through Hope's Prayers.

Albright Hope's Prayers allows readers to "listen in" as a loving father shares with her two children a recorded legacy of their mother's short life. Each chapter begins with snippets of the final hours of her last day. These snippets provide a compelling backdrop that draws the reader into learning more of Hope Pfeiffer's life.Then each chapter details their mother's life's journey as a daughter, wife,and mother. But most importantly, Rob Pfeiffer shares with his children, using their mother's own letters and poetry, insights into her personal struggles as well as her growing walk with Christ, her Savior. I believe the reader will learn along with Samantha and Michael that "life is hard" and sometimes "life is very hard", but Christ is our only hope.

The author's wife "Hope" died at a young age after a serious of medical problems over a long period of time. The author wanted to keep her memory alive for the sake of their two young children. He therefore reconstructed their lives together in the form of this book. Each chapter begins with a short quote documenting the evening of Hope's eventual passing. I am sure that when the children are older this book will accomplish everything the author desires and more. For those children it will mean everything. It is also a brave testimony of a Christian life lived in the midst of much pain and suffering with few (if any) complaints.My only slightly negative observation is that for a reader not connected to the family, I felt there was too much detail about the medical problems and the various check ups etc. This was especially true in the second half of the book but these details will I'm sure be important to Hope's family and friends.Recommended for all but especially those facing personal tragedy/suffering.

From the Author Life is a journey, a journey with many travellers, each living their unique, yet familiar, story. I am one of them, a traveller in this great journey of life, and this is an account my story. What follows is volume one of a collection of the many thoughts, ideas, philosophical musings and theological reasonings which I have been documenting for the last 9 or so years, and up until the first publication of this book in 2013. There are five volumes in total, in the Thoughts Discovered series, each dealing with a different theme and realm of thought, yet all fitting together to tell a greater story. My hope in creating this book is that it may encourage you, inspire you and perhaps even challenge you in some of the views you have on life and our profound place in it. I hereby present to you volume one of my Thoughts Discovered, a book of poems, proverbs and other daring thoughts. This book is a gift to you, so that we might share in our common experiences, and ideals, and find mutual delight in that bond. This book is also a gift to myself, so that I may remember these things in the future when our minds begin to forget, because through every word written here I am reminding myself as much as I am talking to you. I find that few people understand the experiences that I've had, but Tarr is obviously one of those few.He uses simple, charming verse to put across the feelings that adventurers have in private as they face loneliness, difficulty, danger, and of course the ultimate question of their purpose in life and in risking their life.Ultimately, Tarr's sense of faith in humanity and in the sacred shines through even the passages that reflect on the hardest times. This book is a treasure that truly communicates the joy of adventure.
