And they struggle to talk and communicate with their children. I have to recommend this book to them, I know that this book can help them through their hard times. The tips in this book can surely help anyone with a drug addicted teen.

He has been taking drugs since 8 months. I used to blame the society, his friends and the drug dealers spoiling the youth, but then I got my hands over this book. I read the whole ebook and figured out that I was the only culprit behind my son's condition. Being a single parent, I never provided proper attention to him due to my office workload. I always spent time with friends rather than my only son.The chapter 3 of this book really helped me overcome my situation. I properly dealt with my son, talked to him about his problems, and tried to relief him. I know I should've done his earlier but it's never too late for anything. I can't change my son's conditions completely, but I'm standing side by side with him and that's all he wants.

I am not yet a parent myself and I may not know exactly how it feels but I can’t imagine the feeling of parenting a teenager who is a drug addict. My mom would always tell me that parents can do the best for their kids but they cannot control how the kids turns out to be as they are growing up because they aren’t with their parents 24/7. This book gives light to parents who are finding it very hard to cope with such a situation. It has very realistic points to consider. I would love them to have a copy of this so they will regain the hope that everything will be alright.

Brant John does a wonderful job of breaking down NLP succinctly so that anyone can quickly begin to understand how it works and even better how to put it into action right away.What I like best about this book is its way of showing how fear isn't something you have to live with. The methods involved in implementing NLP in your life can have huge rewards for you against fear and a host of other psychological issues that plague the general population.The other issue addressed is that of habits. They govern your life and are key to achieving your goals. NLP can play a huge role in helping you break them and make them. By Alisha Cooley Love’s Labors by Brent Newsom is a book comprised of a variety of poems, both fictional and nonfictional. This collection of poems is exquisite and unique, setting his writings apart from others. This originality stems from his ability to seamlessly intertwine narratives from a fictional town called Smyrna with his own personal experience of his wife’s pregnancy and the fetus within her. Brent Newsom has an incredible ability to give heart-wrenching realism to the lives of his characters. You can’t help but feel sorrow over Esther Green’s inability to move on and let her dead husband go. Or feel compassion for the hardened veteran, Max Buxton, as he see’s nightmares from war in his every day. Along with many other characters from Smyrna, they have such life that we would be unsurprised to find them as our neighbor or even friend. Amidst this little redneck town, Brent Newsom has added his own story, one of an emotion-filled nine months preceding the birth of his son. The hopes and dreams expressed for his soon to be child emanates love that can be experienced and felt by all who read on. And as life would have it, one expecting a child can’t help the memories that flood their mind of their own parents. Brent captured this truth in his last poem of his book by allowing us as the readers to see into his subconscious and experience memories he has of his deceased father as his own child is being born into the world. Simultaneously with Newsom, we discover a true respect for Love’s Labors.

Brent Newsom's Love's Labors details the experiences of real love through his own stories and stories of fictional characters By Drew Warren Brent Newsom's Love's Labors details the experiences of real love through his own stories and stories of fictional characters. The juxtaposition of the author and his wife with the hard working and drunken Floyd and the bartender Patti showcases different types of labors. One kind of labor is that of creating and carrying a child and loving and caring for a spouse. Another type is the drive of sex and the highs and lows of lust. Newsom masterfully weaves dichotomies through these labors that help us see the layered complexity, fragility, and truth about life and our labors of love. His most poignant focus is the motif of fatherhood throughout the poems. Each mention of the development of his child gives us a glimpse into rebirth and new life, and then suddenly contrasts to a lonely and despondent Floyd, subtly suggesting, in my opinion, that second chances and new life can be available. Old and new, life and death, these contrasting themes converge at the end at the most important labor of all, the labor and delivery of Newsom's child. During this final poem, Newsom reflects on his own childhood and the craftsmanship of his father’s work—or rather, the image of fatherhood he had growing up. Newsom’s father communicates by demonstration more than by direct communication, and Newsom worries about making mistakes as a new father and repeating the miscommunication existent in his relationship with his own father. His insecurity is powerfully backed up by imagery of Jesus Christ and the bible verses that discuss his crucifixion. Christ was a son pleading with God to remove the cup of His suffering, and at the same time a father himself to the souls of the world. This theme is reinforced by Newsom’s thoughts to his newborn son: “I have only just made peace / with having a father / and here you are to make me one.” The end is the strongest part of the collection, perfectly tying up the apprehension his readers have felt leading up to the birth of his child with the contrast, indecision, and truth that have guided us through the experiences and labors of love of the author and others.

Siegel I am not an avid reader of poetry, but the title of this book caught my attention and when I flipped through a couple of the poems I was immediately grabbed by their emotional intensity, as well as their intellectual nuance. There is a story in many of these vignettes that we can all relate to as well as some that spoke directly to me, as I believe they will to many readers. A great gift from a new and accomplished "poet on the block."

I adore the realism and casuality, strengthening the connection with the reader to the best extent. Its beyond difficult to pick a favorite in this one as every piece grabs onto at least one memory from my past. Read the whole thing in one sitting, got hooked. Beautiful!!

An Exciting and Enjoyable Collection By James Henderson The poet is a magician who creates what at first glance may seem like strange creatures - these poems. But upon closer, deeper examination, savoring each word, one discovers the familiar: the meanings, behind the sounds, that relate to your life. That is what I experienced in reading the poems in Ralph Hamilton's collection Teaching a Man to Unstick His Tail.I told myself: Concentrate. Concentrate really hard and turn off all the sounds. Then listen to the sound as you speak the words. Gradually the meaning rises from the page within and without the sounds--a part, and apart, as I thought about the poems like "The Mother, Broken". This poem has words that briefly built emotional depth as I read them. I could feel the depth inside me with each passing stanza. The moments that struck hardest were lines like "The heart is a clock" and later "The heart is a cloak". The movement of the poem grew within me to a point when the glass in the last stanza held "this dark wine". Moving moments occur in this and the other poems. Yet, there is a diversity among them and in some of the poems the words subtly grace the page strewn in patterns that have yet to yield to my analysis. In others the sound of the words bursts forth; and the words demand a stentorian reading as in "Exultate". In this poem the words exude an effervescence that justifies the title.There are poems which require a meditative approach and these, perhaps, are those that I savored the most enjoying the words and the silence of thought that followed. One of these. "Idyll" is seemingly delicate in its approach to desire, yet the the words break into a rougher mode with the line "savage in those primal woods". What woods are these toward which the desire on the "cloudless night" draws the reader toward "the thing desired" yielding both a caress and the harshness of Nature? Further meditation is warranted.The poet demonstrates the control that I admire in truly good poetry. In the penultimate poem of the collection, "What Sappho Knew", the two line stanzas mimic the fragmentary nature of Sappho's poetry (that we have). But the poem also is held together by a water motif that appears in the first stanza and is repeated with words like "glided, floating, spilling, coursed," and "oceans". With water appearing only after more than a third of the poem has floated by. Would Sappho know life as well as water? The appearance of a child and infant near the end suggests that she does.This is a collection of poems that vary in shape and style, sonnets and a prose poem, some with words that crawl about the page and others with words that jump off the page. It is thus a collection that was both exciting and enjoyable. I enjoyed the music of the poetry and found the challenge exciting even when poems did not share their meaning immediately. I look forward to returning to see what more these poems have to share.

By sally tate There is a window of opportunity in childhood when a child is still watching and considering how the world works, yet is finally capable of communicating what it all means to his young mind. It is a short window, and if we aren't careful, we get too busy to listen and before you know it those impressions are replaced by increasingly developed ideas. This little book captures that moment, that unique outlook that children have that can be sometimes silly, sometimes a little sad, and sometimes far more thoughtful than expected. The illustrations that accompany are lovely, and reflect well what must have been going through little Chase's mind.As I read it, it reminded me of those special moments during that "window" that I have had with the children in my life, but I will also be getting a copy for my little granddaughter (age 4) because I know that she will relate to these ideas- they were written by someone her age, after all, who managed to put the kind of thoughts she is having into very understandable terms. In short, this is a book about what the world looks like to a child, and it is enjoyable for both children and the adults who love them.

I thought they were quite clever also. Especially the salad dressing and the dinosaur...oh and the tree getting a ticket! Brilliant! What a lucky boy to have such supportive parents! As a grown up who loves kids, I enjoyed reading the thoughts of a 5-year old. And I also appreciate their parents for supporting his poetry rather than critiquing!

I caught her reading it to her baby dolls like a teacher in school. She was showing the post it notes on the back pages saying, "see this was written by a child younger than you. This shows you can do anything." I bought it as a recommendation from a family member and have gained more than I could ever ask for. Thank you Chase for showing my daughter you are never to young to achieve your goals.

Nine times out of ten I am disappointed because it is usually a copy and paste and teaches you nothing.This book was different. Although it will not turn you into a master of SEO overnight, it gives a good insight into what SEO is, how it works and points you to the next stage. It's not really for absolute beginners, nor for advanced users. But for someone who has already dipped their toe and wants a bit more detail, it's ideal.

As this book pointed out, we need to have site optimization strategies in order to rank in the search engines. The writing style is simple and can be understood easily even by non-technical individuals. Content and promotion still rank high in SEO priorities. If you own a website and have not made any changes in the last few years, I suggest you read this as a counter checking tool if you have done the SEO strategies well. This is just a short read, but you may be able to learn a thing or two.

The missing piece of the pie often is what it takes to become her. I can honestly say this book has no missing pieces. What I like most about this self-help spiritual read is that author Edrinna Clark’s approach to it all is humane.Every task worth fighting for on this planet takes work. This includes being a woman recognized highly in God’s favor. I enjoyed reading this book. Through her story, I was able to do some higher order thinking. I’m not referring to the kind of higher order thinking that’s required in my class room with my students. The kind of higher order thinking skills I’m referring to are the ones that will allow me to aim higher for God’s approval to foresee my purpose as a woman on this planet.Clark provides in this book what it takes to become the best woman you can become through God. The detailed prayers at the end of the chapters enclosed in this book are most helpful. Especially for those who desire to talk and pray to God however who may lack the words to say to him. It was so relative to my life and helped me to seek out my purpose in life. This book made me realize just how influential I could be just by walking in God's favor and believing in his promises. There is no way you can tell others to pray and trust God and have them believe it, if you don't have that type of faith yourself. The author uses her own trials and tribulations to help others seek answers to their questions about purpose and being a lady of influence. The author reiterates the fact that you can succeed, regardless of your past! Additionally, the author provides insight as to what would be characteristics of a lady of influence. Every "lady" should have this book! I look forward to many more books by this author!

Any time I felt that my life was out of control, I turned to my eating disorder. It was always there, promising me that everything would be okay if I just followed the rules. The problem was that the rules kept changing and I lost all control. Writing poetry saved me from falling into the deep pits of depression . . . This is my journey.

Overall it took only a couple hours to read through. Not a bad price for introductory information.
