The author makes really good points about how relationships are always great in the beginning, but fade over time. By Eric Laughton As a man who was once divorced and recently married (well, 4 years now), I do everything within my power to ensure my marriage never fails. This books helped keep our marriage...well "marriage proof!" The book is well written and dives into things such as how communications make or break a marriage. In her book, she states, "research has indicated that a lack of communication is the number one reason couples divorce." And I thought it was finances! But thinking about it, she is right, EVERYTHING fails if there is a lack of communication. The books is broken down essentially two parts: 1) why marriages fail; and 2) how to ensure success in a marriage. Solid read!

Veronica lays her own personal experiences down no hold barred style and opens up fully to the reader. This style of writing really allows for one to begin to think about sex in ways that provoke the reader to really think about what sex means to them personally.Sex is a wonderful thing and Veronica takes us on her personal roller coaster ride that touches on so many aspects that so many people have experienced. The difference? Unlike myself, and I am sure most others, she questioned what these experiences meant and pushes the reader to dig down finally ask the questions ourselves.

I wish I had the insights she has and the courage to be Vulnerable and still be willing to share her life experiences. She let a side the opinions others may have because there are many who will gain great insights for themselves after reading this book. When you are in the heat of the action you are not necessarily in the processing mode. This book can bring clarity to our own relationship between love and Sex. Adriana is coping better now and her and Julian have grown close despite him been in another country. Deciding to see where their relationship is going, they decide not to rock the boat and to not tell anyone about 'them'. Now this book is so much more than just Adriana and Julian's romance, it really is Adriana's story. She is so bitter and resentful towards Elijah for leaving her and Andy, and she really struggles with her insecurities and lack of confidence. Bringing them into her relationship with Julian, who's still battling his own demons, is a mistake waiting to happen. Then throw in brother Lex unexpectedly finding out and the fireworks really do begin.I've always loved this series. I love the emotion Kat always puts in to her books but Adriana's story will always have a special place in my heart. The feelings/emotions and situations are all something i could easily relate to. I love the realism, especially the first sex scene, it was absolutely brilliantly written, the emotions Adriana goes through are put across very well and although i wanted to slap her at times, i could understand why she was the way she was. Eric, as always, provides some very funny moments making this book a nice balance of funny/sweet/sad. Julian is delicious in this book, i hated him for the first two books, warmed up to him in Julian and fell hook, line and sinker for him in this one. Highly recommend this book, especially if you've read the other books in the Dark Angel series.

THIS is now my favourite book of the series....I feel that perhaps I'll be saying that a lot with Kat Masen's books... but they just get BETTER and BETTER!!!Adriana strikes a chord with me, I identify with so many of her thoughts as would many women. As her story unravels you go through so many emotions, I want to shake her by the shoulders, then I want to cry for her and then I want to laugh along with her. There are a number of twists and turns to this story that had me genuinely guessing what will happen next?? There's nothing worse than a story that is predictable and this is anything but!!And our favourite inappropriately hilarious Eric has definitely stepped up his material... oh dear god.... The things that come out of his wickedly kinky fictional mouth!!! And on the subject of wickedly kinky.... hmmm well this book teases the naughtier side of us all... I can't help but think that Kat might be holding back slightly.... or maybe I'm just really wicked? Give us the smut!!!I really hope there is another book in the future for this series, in fact anything that springs from the well of Kat's imagination is likely to have me licking my whiskers like the proverbial cat ;)

Nearly 10 million soldiers lost their lives in World War I, alongside seven million civilians. Months before his passing in 1918, English artist Wilfred Owen said, “This book is not about heroes. English Poetry is not yet fit to speak of them. Nor is it about deeds, or lands, nor anything about glory, honor, might, majesty, dominion, or power, except War. Above all I am not concerned with Poetry. My subject is War, and the pity of War.” To honor the WWI heroes and its memories, I've put together a list of poems written in English by both soldiers and civilians. While huge numbers of these sonnets don't address a specific war occasion, I've listed them by year, alongside a selection of historical markers, in order to comprehend the poems' true essence. You may recognize that more ballads in 1914 and 1915 represent the old virtues of honor, obligation, and courage, while numerous later poems after 1915 approach these abstractions with far more prominent incredulity and good nuance, through realism and bitter irony. Despite the fact that horrendous delineations of war in poetry go back to Homer's Iliad, the later poetic work of WWI mark a significant shift in how we view war and sacrifice. About the Author Connie Jordan Green lives on a farm in East Tennessee with her husband and two cats and two dogs. Her weekly column for the Loudon County News Herald is in its 36th year. She writes stories for young people, poetry, and novels. The novels received various awards: The War at Home was placed on the ALA List of Best Books for Young Adults, both books were selected by the New York City Library as books for the Teen Age, The War at Home was nominated to the 1991-92 Volunteer State Book Award Master List, and Emmy was selected as a Notable 1992 Children’s Trade Book in the Field of Social Studies. Her poetry has appeared in numerous publications and has won awards. She has two chapbooks from Finishing Line Press, Slow Children Playing and Regret Comes to Tea. She was the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the East Tennessee Hall of Fame for Writers. She teaches for the Oak Ridge Institute for Continued Learning (ORICL), and leads writing workshops. She and her husband have three children and seven grandchildren.

And as handsome. These guys can be real sweethearts and charmers, but once you've done them wrong...you are done. After being burned in a relationship, Lorenzo wrote all relationships off. Only one night stands for this guy.Olivia Romero lets go for one evening after receiving some bad news. One night to wipe out memories of her past. The one night was supposed to be forgettable as well, only Fate seems to have a different twist for her.Yes, Olivia is related to the infamous Romero with the quick temper, as the reader will see her brothers carry that 'temper' gene too. Take two people who are damaged and cautious of relationships. Add a Moreno and Romero into the mix and you have an exciting, dangerous, sexual and explosive story. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. So good!! Loved it! By addictedtomykindle I really enjoyed Lorenzo and Olivia's story. They both have been through some difficult situations in past relationships, which has resulted in guarded hearts and suspicious minds. To say Enzo is highly suspicious of any man involved with Livy is the biggest understatement of the century. I can sympathize with him, even though it was extreme at times. He's lucky Livy had endless amounts of patience with him. But, who wouldn't at least try for someone like him. He was so sweet and hot! These two had instant chemistry, and I loved how their lives kept intersecting. It was so great to see the Morenos and Romeros again as well. There was a lot of suspense with this story, which made it hard to put down. Livy's ex proved to be a manipulative jerk, and her 'boss' was creepy. It was no wonder Enzo had trouble keeping it together. I really liked her strength and resolve to never be taken advantage of again, even by Lorenzo. A great couple with an exciting story!

One of the best parenting books I've read By Tami Dierberger I purchased this book as a tool to use with my direct selling team; however it spoke to me as a parent and I started putting some of the principles into practice and the results were extremely positive. I wish I had this book when my children were young. It is one of the best parenting books I've read. The correlation between the parent/child relationship to the wolf pack made so much sense. As I read this book I realized that much of my anger toward my child's rebellion was really my lack of dealing with his behavior.

Gifts from the inside out and the outside in By Elizabeth Day Renée's book captures and celebrates the sacredness of the ordinary, the inner and outer worlds we all navigate, and the manner in which our bodies, minds and hearts are one. I sat in my favorite reading chair on this cool, early summer morning, strong coffee in hand, and was immersed and moved by each tanka. I bought 10 copies to gift to friends and will use this book as a text in my Mindful Leadership course. I love the visceral quality of the poems--the wood, the snow, the fire--and how each is an invitation to pause, notice, feel, and reflect. Wonderfully written book on raising a child with autism By rachley418 I've been an educator for almost a decade and have had the privileged of coming into contact with a handful of autistic kids. Seeing them for a few hours during the school day is just a segment of their lives. Reading this book really opened up the world of autism for me. Karen writes in a way that makes you feel like you are sitting right next to her enjoying a cup of tea. I couldn't put this book down! The book begins with the Haslem's journey to becoming parents, and follows their autistic son from birth to high school. You will smile, wince, chuckle, and cry as each new page describes the joys, triumphs and successes along with set-backs, disappointments and challenges of raising a non-neurotypical child. This book is a must read for anyone on their own journey with an autistic child, a friend who would like a well rounded view, and any educator who would like to better understand the amplified life of autism.

By Rachel DuPont Karen is a dear friend, and while I knew much of her family's story before devouring the pages of this memoir, there were many tales that were new to me as well. I was amazed at the detail with which Karen recounts so many of their experiences with Titus. Somewhere in the middle of the book, I was reminded of the scripture "And Mary kept all of these things and pondered them in her heart" (Luke 2:19). Like Mary, the mother of Jesus, Karen, the mother of Titus, has tucked away years of tender memories, prayers, hopes, and dreams for her family, and especially for her oldest son. In this book, she opens up this treasure store and allows us a long look at its riches.

Inspiring By Sandy My heart was so moved by this book written from a mother’s point of view about her family’s life experiences with autism and how they have embraced it rather than tolerate it. As I read through the book in just a few hours, it struck me that Karen’s writing appears effortless. This is understandable because it is clearly her genuine, heart-felt story about Titus and his joys, triumphs and unending challenges all the while being so loved and supported by his family and community around him. It was truly inspiring to me and I thank her for pouring out her love - chapter after chapter, giving to others so that can benefit from reading this lovely treasure.

About the Author Hunter Marshall is a native of Idaho. She was born three months too early with a disability and wasn't supposed to be able to walk, talk, see, hear or have any semblance of a normal life. Her mother however, believed she was more than a disability. She made sure Hunter did everything she was capable of to reach her full potential. Coming from a big family, it was either keep up or get left in the dust. It was because her love of reading and writing that Hunter knew, even at an early age, she was destined to be a writer. Hunter went on to graduate high school much to the awe and amazement of the doctors who told her parents she would never amount to anything, get married and have children. She then succeeded in getting a degree in Social Work. Her knowledge of Social Work and concern for issues facing mankind have assisted her in many aspects of her life including raising a family and writing this novel. It is her faith and belief in a loving Father in Heaven that is a driving force in coming to terms with her past and learning that, although difficulties may arise, there are ways to "get through" the times that seem impossible.

It was emotional and showed aspects of what a person can go through in life. By Amazon Customer Just finished Wake Up by Hunter Marshall and it was a very interesting read. On one hand, it was very well written. On the other the storyline is quite shocking. I'm a survivor of domestic violence most of my childhood and a little of my adulthood. At first I thought it was just a story about a "douche bag" for lack of better word. Then I remembered that those are the signs. We need to teach our daughters these signs so they don't fall into such a trap. I feel bad for Quinn because she loved him through it all. My heart hurt for her each time she didn't leave. No woman should go through any of that.

This is required reading for women of all ages. Give it to your daughter, your sister, your next door neighbor…but, first, read it yourself!

I loved how she would end most chapters with a little bit of a light-hearted, quip of practicality.Her relationship with her daughter, Jules was heart-warming. I felt as happy as was Susan was when she found Miss Jules’ poem. My heart melted with hers.Ms. Emmerich’s love for her father filled me up. It was so genuine and loving, I found myself crying. I’m so happy she had the dad she did; and the Christmas traditions were wonderful!I laughed out loud at Susan’s sarcastic humor when it came to the hot flashes which she described to a T. “I wake up thinking a God that I’m sure is a man because a woman would never have cursed women this way!” Right on, Susan!Being one, I absolutely loved the answer to “What moves the souls of baby boomer women?” Freedom. In spades, Susan…in spades! Right on!Overall, very poignant soul searching which left me smiling.

Emmerich calls life like she sees it; she writes direct, clear-seeing, non-fluffy prose, always with underlying wonder and gratitude for a world that brings both deep pain and amazing joy. In more than one essay, her openness to reveal her own flaws and fears brought tears to my eyes—tears of solidarity, and tears of happiness to have discovered this kindred spirit. I agree 110% with the reviewer who said this book should be on the New York Times best seller list! It will definitely be a birthday gift for my girlfriends this year.
