About the Author The author was born and raised in England and Germany. The son of an RAF Officer he has lived in homes too many to recall. He attended Framlingham College in Suffolk. Following this he worked in the City of London in the insurance business. This career move took him to Bangkok, Thailand, and back to England. In 1977 he moved to Antigua and Barbados in the West Indies. Moving permanently to the United States in 1986 to Cincinnati, Ohio where his two daughters were raised. During this time also he spent a few years in Princeton NJ. Tony currently resides in Sarasota, Florida.

By Rick Hardeman I've been listening to Tony recite in live environments for some time now (great voice, by the way) and it's a pleasure being able to flip through his work when I'm here at home. I most enjoyed the change in the protagonist, the healing and hope demonstrated at the end of the story.The story deals with some very difficult topics in a very genuine manner.I recommend this book and look forward to others by this author.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Know the characters as if you were there By R. Stoll I am just over half way through this book and couldn't wait to share my thoughts. From the very beginning the writing style captured my attention. The style initially reminded me of something influenced by Dashiell Hammett or film noir with the excellent use of descriptions to paint a stylized picture in my mind. I won't go into details on the plot here so as not to spoil it for other readers but appreciate the way the characters are fully dimensionalized showing their strengths and weaknesses. In addition to the main story and characters, U.S. society and all the dramatic changes from pre-WW2 forward plays a huge role in influencing the characters and story line.If looking at this for a book club, it has great side topics for discussion such as the impacts on women as their roles in society changed for WW2 (e.g. Rosie the Riveter) and then much of that independence was quickly removed when the soldiers came home.To summarize: This is a great read with characters that engage the reader in a story that has something that everyone can find to relate to their lives.Update: having just finished the book I am more impressed. Take the time to get to know Mary, her life, her desires, her love.

Very nice observation of human behaviour By Jason Greg A very relevant book on how use of technology in our everyday lives is gradually taking away precious time from our personal lives. The author has also suggested 'easy to implement' ideas to strike a fine balance between using gadgets and personal devices and spending quality time for other personal and professional pursuits. Highly recommended for reading especially to jet-setting executives who are constantly scrambling for time.

The author breaks down all the steps into manageable pieces. It works and you should follow her instructions and use the suggested language. I had no problems and learned quickly not to hover and to back off, and got results. We're still working of the poop which the kids finds scary and night training,very tiring for kid and mom.I absolutely love this book

The book offered comprehensive discussion on the topic though it contains a lot of computer jargon it is manageable and easy to understand. By Jessica Woods I know for a fact that JavaScript is the most valuable program language to know for the future. The ability to build a web-based application from front to back in one language is very valuable. Languages and frameworks come and go so there will always be something new to learn in the future. I'm really eager to learn Javascript that's why I read this awesome book. This book reminded me that there are two things that we need to do to be a good programmer. One is to get a good amount of practice, and the other, is to get a really good education. I'm so grateful about this book because I quickly learned not just the how and what the code is, but the where, when, and why. Why to use it, what else you'll need with it and more importantly, how to use it. This book was crafted by some of the best minds who have studied Javascript, so imagine what you can learn with this book. Highly recommended book to those who wants to have a great start on learning Javascript.

An excellent poet at the height of his craft By Barry L Kessel Christopher Seid has the ability to bring life experiences -- from the mundane to the profound -- into clear focus through his sensitive, intelligent voice. He has crafted a wonderful collection of poems that reveal the master craftsman that he is -- his words flow easily, subtle enough to leave room for the imagination; powerful enough to move the soul. A worthy read that I will return to again and again.

The author takes us on emotional journey across different parts of the world sharing life experiences and describing true stories of what it's like to be an elderly regardless of background and culture. Filled with reality, wisdom, compassion, and strength the book gently and effortlessly touched my heart. A wake up call to modern societies and raising awareness of very inconvenient topic.

An inspiring collection of short stories By Alexandra Johns If you enjoy learning more about foreign cultures, the way different societies perceive the elderly, or simply like a good heart-warming collection of little stories, then you will enjoy this book. I found the name of the novel to be very intriguing and I really enjoy short story collections, and I found this book to be quite delightful. I respect that the author is writing about a subject that many of us would like to avoid – that of older people and their experiences. Often, we are so busy with our own family, and our own lives, that it is easy to forget that the elderly people in our life have had wonderful, interesting, sad, or dramatic experiences in life just like us, and that they have a lot to offer to all of us – if we only take the time. Each of the short stories in this novel focuses on a different cultural background, and offer the reader a different story about the narrator’s experience with the elderly person/s in question, in addition to offering insight into the life of the elderly person. The author hopes to bring more awareness to the way we treat, interact with, and perceive elderly people in our lives and in our communities, and she certainly succeeded in reinvigorating my interest in connecting with the elderly people I know. I found the stories to be diversely interesting, poignant, and oftentimes sad, but ultimately enlightening, and always inspiring. This novel is a lovely collection of stories which may surprise, delight and inspire readers, helping all of us to shine more attention on the elderly community.
