Dr.Stevens does a great job helping through the sometimes difficult task of falling back in love. If you are in a rut or angry with your spouse or thing it can't work anymore, read this book first.

Best laid plans etc. By Amazon Customer When I got this, I had a grand plan that I would take Kindle editions of various work related titles and put them on my android tablet and then leave it at work for a reference. It was a good plan, except that on my android tablet, only the first and last pages show up. None of the charts, none of the explanations, nada showed up. This is the only book I have had this problem with. It shows up fine on my iOS device, and on my Windows devices, just not on the Android device.

A voice you will recognize as your own By Bruce Newman There are many voices clamoring for our attention these days and I dare say most of them would voluntarily go silent if they really cared, for they seek more to gain financially from “consumers” than to impart their lived humanity to fellow travelers. Very often the voices that need to be heard are not shouting above the crowd or calling attention to themselves as if they alone have “the answer”. Their sufferings have not destroyed them but blown them like molten glass into a beautiful container. They have words we need to hear but they will not run around neurotically grabbing lapels for attention. They know what they have to say is valuable and we need to have some level of appreciation for that if we are to hear them, and our need is great.I’ve just finished reading Ataraxia by Donna J. Sanders. Each one of these poems is a quiet but firm grasp on reality against a background that threatened that grasp. That we don’t know Donna is perhaps a good thing because she has no celebrity image to preserve nor some ideology to hawk. She simply speaks poetically from within the crucible of the life she has survived and, having been pressed like grapes over years, now shares with us a fine wine.In her first poem, with the same title as the book, she says ataraxia (a state of freedom from emotional disturbance and anxiety) is what she craves, thereby establishing her main desire consonant with most of humanity. Each one of her poems then in turn reflects some glint of suffering, pleasure, anger, triumph. I can’t say there was a poem here I didn’t like because each one had its own honesty, and honesty is not simply about like or dislike but admiration. These words from the poem My Testimony are typical of what you will find.“Even though my internal fluids ferment, this core refuses to be petrified…”This is the struggle to survive personal affliction and remain human without turning into something beastly. This is a struggle we all know in our own ways. Donna J. Sanders is one quiet voice who has recorded her path through the minefield. Voices like hers are unnoticed sanity valves in a world that threatens to overwhelm us with its madness. You can wait and pay a therapist big bucks to help you with no guarantee. Or you can read Ataraxia and self-medicate.

You can tell that her words aren't arbitrary or meaningless. She's letting you sit in on her conversations with God and her soul. This book would be a great addition to college-level or AP English classes. Her literary journey is just taking off.

While they're all fantastic, full of full color pictures and lots of detail, this is essentially screen captures of the Minecraft Wiki pages. The majority of the pages are half blank since there are scant details. There are multiple ads for other "Kwick Reeds" books though. Stay away. You will learn more from the in-game tutorial than this book would ever be able to teach you.This would have been useless to my son so I returned it.

Although it may not provide the most value to advanced players, there is definitely something to learn for everyone. The book covers how to build things, basics for novices, what biomes are, how to deal with mobs, and many other tricks and tips. Its great how it even includes how to create an account and the game controls. It's got nice crispy pictures too, a massive bonus compared to other minecraft eBooks on the market.

If you have played minecraft for any length of time (like more than 30 mins) you probably know almost everything this book is going to tell you. Most of the pages only use half the page so you are not getting a lot of information.Rather than Ultimate Handbook it should be called "Minecraft for the Complete Beginner".Find one of the decent minecraft books instead of this one. Waste of money.

My expectations of this book and what I might learn were fulfilled and then some. I was amazed at how open, hones and frank Linda Siegmund is. Most books will have a point where it is redundant and you skip a bit but I couldn't skip anything, she really explained her understanding about the issue. This book was a real eye-opener for me as someone who lived through something similar in my previous relationship but that I was thankfully strong enough to get myself out of. I highly recommend that anyone living in a situation similar to this read this book. If you know of anyone that you suspect may be in this kind of relationship, consider sharing this book with them!

I found all the content in the book very easy to relate to as well. I have been in several abusive relationships until a good friend of mine showed me this book. I didn't feel like I was going to get anything out of the book but I'm so glad I gave it a chance! I'm optimistic about creating a healthier relationship in the future!

I am an introvert by nature and while I love being around my friends and family, meeting new people makes me nervous and drains my energy. I got this book in the hope that it would give me some tips to help me meet people easier and be more open when I'm in situations where I can meet new people or mix with acquaintances.This book has some excellent tips to help you understand why you feel anxious and what you can do to calm your nerves. It includes many exercises that I found to be very helpful. For me, any time I read something that tells me what to do it helps to get reinforced with exercises.I especially appreciate the section about dealing with groups. This is a difficult thing for me and the tips and hints in this section have been really enlightening.

What I have against it is primarily that the major bulk of the content (maybe all?) is reprinted from the authors earlier - and longer - book: How to be witty: The Ultimate Guide to Improving your Wit, Confidence and Social Skills, mobi-asin:B00O1B1O2M, published in September 2014. I think that should be pointed out in the presentation of the book at Amazon, as readers often look for additional books from their favourite authors. (I got my copy when it was free, but if I had paid for it I would have felt cheated.

However, we realize that we do not use a great deal of the phone's capability; in fact, we probably use only about 1% of what we could use. In addition, the iPhone 6 does not come with a written user's manual, and I wish it did.We ordered both iPhone 6s Portable Genius and the Teach Yourself Visually manual for the iPhone 6. While I have to give a slight edge to the Teach Yourself Visually book, the Portable Genius is excellent, too. It does not have as many colored screen shots, but it does have detailed illustrations and step by step directions for any operation you can imagine. Actually, the two manuals complement each other nicely. The Portable Genius has more text, so if that suits your learning style, go with this book. Some of the areas covered in this manual include an overview of the audio features of the phone and an extensive chapter on the camera and all its features. (By the way, if you have not yet purchased an iPhone, you will be blown away by the potential of the camera. It is, by far, the best camera I have ever owned,) You will also learn about the Cloud, and I freely confess that I did not really understand the Cloud until I read this book. The chapter on fixing your iPhone is invaluable. Truly, I am glad we have both books. I give the Portable Genius my highest recommendation.

Great Primer for new users of iOS By Amighty I've had several iPhones and I got this not for myself but for my step-mom who is getting her first iPhone. At first, it seems pretty inconceivable that anyone would need this much information but as I read through it I realized that it might be pretty helpful for someone completely new to iOS and the iPhone.This is a pretty heavy book and it has a LOT of information. You may think of the iPhone as being dead simple but when you see it all explained and written out, you can see just how many of the intricacies of the operating system have become second-nature to a seasoned user. It starts at the beginning - turning on and setting up your phone, it then covers the basics of getting on WiFi, setting up mail accounts, and using the app and iTunes stores. As the book goes on, it covers things in more depth , in chapters titled "Getting the Most Out of..." the Music app, the camera, etc., etc. There are also plenty of troubleshooting techniques and it's well indexed and nicely illustrated with screen-shots and "hot tips" icons.I even learned a few things about the phone that I thought I had mastered - how to due certain gestures and how to better use Siri. Honestly, even if you don't need this book there are some good tips and tricks you could learn as well. I see it as the instruction manual that should, but doesn't, come with the iPhone.I'm sure that, after a few days with her iPhone, my step-mom will rarely pick up this book. But for the first few days it will save me a lot of aggravating "how do you this???" phone calls. It really covers just about everything you could imagine and more.

Very easy to understand with well presented material and lots of pictures By Just Me I have several iPhone books and I find this one to be the best to learn about the iPhone. It walks you through all the basics and quite a bit more. Very well presented. Easy to follow and understand.Super book for visual learners. Comparing the pictures to the actual phone is SO helpful. It makes everything quite clear.This is not the most comprehensive iPhone manual. The Missing Manual may qualify for that title. But it does offer all that most people will need unless they are trying to do something unusual and complex, or they run into a serious and uncommon problem (which may be best addressed by Apple directly, or an online search).I actually like have 2 copies of this. A paper copy for learning the iPhone and a Kindle version downloaded onto the iPhone for on-the-go reference.Please don’t think that because I say this isn’t the most advanced manual available that it isn’t the best choice. It has all the info that most people need or want and that info is so well presented that this is an excellent choice.

That is not this book.This felt like the thoughts that any ordinary guy might have as he goes about his day with morning coffee, commuting to work, dinner with his wife and kids, and vacation travel.There are pieces that might make you reminisce or feel your throat tighten a bit, but they are mixed with pages that make you smile and not take life too seriously. Ultimately it just feels honest and down-to-Earth.It was enjoyable, and perhaps the most approachable poetry book I've read. Maybe poetry fundamentalists would disagree but I say poetry should be more like this.Looking forward to more by the author.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. really enjoy his imagery By Pixiekoko I had not really read poetry in a few years just been busy with life I guess, but a friend told me about this so i picked it up and kept it up till i read the whole thing! I really like the imagery it made me feel with my senses, that's what good writing does right? There were a few minor things that i found annoying but it wasn't on the authors part it was the way the words lined up and sometimes the images looked off, But I think it has to do with the app on my phone, maybe it would look different on a different device or in print. If this book is released in print I know I will buy it and anything else the author offers me!

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Nice bit of poetry By dbook I selected the book before going on holiday to have something to digestible in smaller bits than the usual tomes. It was a good buy, an interesting and eclectic collection of work. The author's style follows a few different paths but most of the poems read quite nicely, ranging from impish fun to more somber and reflective. The layout of some of the poems distracts a bit and naturally some of the work appealed to me more than others but overall, it's quite enjoyable. I can't help but feel like I've been taken on a trip to many places.

A Relentless Sonic Masterpiece with Unblinking Content Heavier Than a Quantum Sledgehammer By Simeon Berry There are some poetry books that you just sense the person would have *died* if they didn't get them out. Brian Teare's The Room Where I Was Born is one. Tory Dent's HIV, Mon Amour is another, as is C.D. Wright's Translations of the Gospel Back Into Tongues.And Cate Marvin's Oracle, which has such a furor of sonic invention, effortless rhetorical mastery, and tectonic lyric darkness that I remember once again what the stakes for poetry can be.What I love about this book is that the metaphors acquire this primal rumble (a mixture of their subtle embedding within the text of the poems themselves, and their booming, underworld flair). A lot of lyricism happens in the tremulous upper register—Oracle has bass notes that rewrite your inner ear.If you're not roaring about this book to strangers in the streets, you're not doing your job.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Tore through it in two hours By Jennifer Gallo Oracle was recommended to me by a dear friend who is somewhat of an expert in poetry and feelings. I'm a graduate student with little money and little free time so I slept on it, but something told me I needed this book a month later. I bought the kindle version after one of my classes and finished the book by the time I had to be in my next class. I plan on reading it again, perhaps out loud, to get the full effect of Cate's rhythm and voice. I recommend this to anyone who loves poetry, anyone who loves (or hates) Staten Island, anyone who wants to feel like they've been punched in the gut.

We were desparate to find a solution. Silverstein's Baby Sleep Guide has been a miracle for us! The steps are detailed, organized, and easy to follow. This is not information you can simply Google, but from experience, research, and common sense. I highly recommend this book to any new parent or caregiver.

They have always been a special family with a deep spirit. We have been through several trials together but I never really got to know Alton, until now.I am so grateful for "the rest of the story." I followed Alton's time after his accident, and we attended his memorial service, but knowing Dale and Pam as I do, I knew there was much more to the story. I just never had the heart to ask.Dale, thank you for sharing Alton's story! It is uplifting and heart warming, and I am so thankful to finally get to know Alton. What an amazing young man.
